Rules: Rules are very simple and if you know me, you know that I love to break them!

So with that, I'll say that everything is negotiable with prior notice (expect of course, rule 6).

Basic Rules:

1. Limit of 4-6 photos (8x10's) or 3 larger photos. This will allow for more people to get involved. Essentially 4 to 5 feet of wall space (without cramming everyone next to each other). Frames aren't required, we can figure out cool and creative ways to hang stuff. If you notifiy me early enough, I might be able to put you in the larger wall spaces which would allow for more photos to be displayed.

2. Help with any prep work that needs to be done (example: move a couch around, roll out the display panels, etc.)

3. Photos need to be up by the weekend before First Friday.

Friends/Family receptions are held at the larger studios at Blue Star on Thursdays, maybe down the line, we could do the same. This also gives me a week to adjust lights as necessary. I also ask that you help others with their hanging as well. I don't want people leaving after they're stuff is hung. It's all a community of friends, so I want everyone to help each other.

4. I would like to have the photos/art stay up through Sunday afternoon. I open the loft on Saturday's after First Friday from 1pm to 4pm. This allows folks who didn't want to fight the crowds to come by and check out the works. So if you have friends/family that couldn't make it Friday, this is a perfect opportunity to bring them down to see the exhibit with less of a hassle.

5. Do your part in helping keep the place clean (not immaculate!). A large crowd comes through, so any help you can provide on picking up after (and during) the event would be greatly appreciated. I understand some people can't stay late, so maybe we could distribute the tasks. Some could help the day of the event, while others could help with putting everything back to normal the day after. There isn't much in terms of trash on previous First Fridays (2 trash bags), but if we do choose to have food or snacks, then it'll be a different story.

6. The most important thing: I ask that everyone who is involved bring beverages (for patrons... and us, of course). We can talk about who brings what. Boxed wine and beer has been brought previously, which is perfect. Food was mentioned, but I'm not sure about that one (since I'm clueless when it comes to that sort of stuff). Cheese and crackers are a big hit.

----------------------

Things to know for yourself (since I wasn't prepared for it myself) was how you’re going to deal with people wanting to purchase anything. I hadn't even thought about it, so I ended up telling people that I would gladly sell it to them (but that they would have to pick it up after the show was over). They gladly complied and understood that I still wanted to display it the rest of the evening (that might not work for you). Some folks have prints on hand.

I'm trying to make this as easy as I could. Of course, I could eliminate some of these rules, but then I’d have to start charging for wall space, etc to make up for it. I'd rather not and leave it up to you guys to help out.

Feel free to ask me about anything not covered here.
